Commodore Kalana Jinadasa assumes office as Commandant NMA
 

Commodore Kalana Jinadasa, the newly appointed Commandant of the premier training institution of Sri Lanka Navy - Naval & Maritime Academy (NMA), assumed duties at the Commandant’s Office yesterday (19 March). Accordingly he became the 33rd Commandant in the annals of NMA history.

The incoming Commandant was received at the NMA premises according a Guard of Honour. The occasion was also attended by a host of senior and junior officers. Thereupon, the outgoing Commandant, Commodore Kassapa Paul handed over the duties and responsibilities of this key appointment to the new Commandant before he was honoured with a ceremonial naval send-off.

Subsequently, the incumbent Commandant addressed the officers attached to the Naval & Maritime Academy, underlining the importance of setting high standard, maintaining good conduct and discipline of the trainees, instructors and officers at all times.
