Sri Lanka Navy celebrates its New Year Festival at SLNS Parakrama in Colombo
 

The Sinhala and Hindu New Year Festival organized in accordance with Naval traditions was held under the gracious participation of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe, at the General Mess of SLNS Parakrama, today (16th April).

The Deputy Chief of Staff and Director General Operations, Rear Admiral Piyal de Silva, Director Generals of SL Navy, Directors of SL Navy, Commanding Officer of SLNS Parakrama Captain Anil Bowatta, senior and junior officers representing Naval Headquarters and SLNS Parakrama and large number of sailors attended the occasion.

Further, giving priority to the customary traditions of the New Year, celebrations were held at all naval bases, ships and craft during the past few days. Naval personnel attached to the respective ships, craft and establishments rejoiced in these events held as part of the Sinhala and Hindu New Year.
