Vishishta Seva Vibhushanaya conferred on senior naval officers
 

In parallel with the National War Heroes' Day, the investiture ceremony of Vishishta Seva Vibhushanaya (VSV) to military personnel over 25 years of unblemished service, took place under the patronage of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday (19 May 2018). During the august ceremony, 50 senior officers from the tri-services including the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe and the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy received this military decoration.

Navy Chief of Staff, Rear Admiral Neil Rosayro, Deputy Chief of Staff and Director General Operations, Rear Admiral Piyal De Silva, Rear Admiral Dharmendra Wettewa, Rear Admiral Jayantha Ranasinghe, Rear Admiral Samantha Wimalathunga, Rear Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne, Rear Admiral Sisira Jayakody, Rear Admiral Sarath Dissanayake, Rear Admiral NKD Nanayakkara, Rear Admiral MA Ananda and retired senior officers including the former Commander of the Navy, Admiral Travis Sinniah, Rear Admiral MUKV Bandara, Rear Admiral DEC Jayakody, Rear Admiral WMAV Fernando, Rear Admiral JADA Perera, Rear Admiral DC Gunawardena, Rear Admiral KKJ De Silva, Rear Admiral SWC Mohotty, Rear Admiral CR Kulasekara, Rear Admiral PMND Fernando, Rear Admiral JD Amaranayake and Rear Admiral WMPL Weerasinghe were among the rest of senior naval officers who received this honour.
