Northern Naval Command conducts Field Medical Clinic at Delft Island
 

As a part of the Sri Lanka Navy’s cooperate social development project, the officers and sailors of Medical Branch in Northern Naval Command under the patronage of the Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Merril Wickramasinghe, conducted a field health clinic with co partnership of Teaching hospital, Jaffna and Regional Director health services, Jaffna at the Community Cultural Center  in Delft Island on 29th May 2018.

Large number of patients in isolated Delft Island which is situated away from main land of Jaffna benefited from the clinic. The people facilitated by the clinic, appreciated naval community social responsibility works in islands of Jaffna peninsula.

Consultants and specialized professionals in fields of pediatrics, psychiatric, ophthalmology [eye], general physician, endocrinology and paramedical professional attained clinic. Screenings and treatments were given for communicable, non-communicable and respiratory diseases, child health problems, oral/dental disease, old age health problem and women health care at tertiary care level  including all laboratory investigations and medicines  free of charge at this patient friendly clinic under a convenient environment.

 The drugs and the supplementary nutritious foods distributed free of charge among the patients were sponsored by Sri Lanka Threeposha Ltd. and State Pharmaceutical Cooperation. The spectacles were donated by Loins Club of Jaffna.
