Initial planning announced for SLINEX 2018
 

The initial planning conference of the 4th edition of Indian and Sri Lanka bilateral naval exercise, SLINEX 2018 was held at the Indian Navy’s Eastern Naval Command Headquarters in Vishakapatnam on 29th and 30th May 2018.

The SLN team engaged in the discussion was comprised of Captain Sea Training-FOCNF, Captain Pradeep Rathnayake, Commanding Officer SLNS Nandimithra, Captain Dhammika Wijewardena, Staff Officer (Operations), Commander Nadun Gunasena and the Defence Attaché of Sri Lankan High Commission in India, Captain Suresh De Silva. Meanwhile, the Commanding Officer of the Indian Naval Ship Ranjith, Captain Vickram Mehere and Captain Ranjeeth Sharma were among the Indian counterparts.

The SLINEX which promotes and coordinates defence relationships, maritime operations including asymmetric operations, interoperability between two navies and improves professional exchange and interaction at working level is scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka for the second time from 27th August to 02nd September. A number of ships belonging to India and Sri Lanka are expected to take part in this year’s exercise.
