SL Navy clinches overall champs in Defence Services Canoeing Sprint & Kayaking
 

Defence Services Canoeing Sprint & Kayaking championship 2018 worked off with the participation of many competitors representing Tri Forces, on the waters of Diyawannawa lake on 21^st and 22^nd June 2018.

Overwhelming their counterparts with exhibited talents, Sri Lanka Navy team emerged in the overall championship securing first places of K 1 200m, K 1 500m, K 2 500m, C 1 500m and Dragon Boat events of men’s title and K 1 200m, K 1 500m and K 1 1000m events in the women’s title. Moreover, Leading Seaman RGDBI Wijerathna and Woman Communicator KW Welikala were adjudged as Best Oarsman and Best Oarswoman respectively.

Deputy Chief of Staff and Director General Operations Rear Admiral Piyal de Silva graced the prize awarding ceremony as the Chief Guest. This occasion was attended by senior and junior officers and other ranks as well.
