Navy assists to bring a patient ashore
 

In response to information given by Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources about a fishermen who had suddenly fallen sick, Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Coast Guard promptly reacted to bring the patient ashore for medical treatment, yesterday (21 June).

A fisherman onboard “Nalin 09” which had left Beruwala fisheries harbour on last 14th June, had fallen severely sick due to fever.

Following the facts received, Sri Lanka Coast Guard Ship “Suraksha” and Fast Attack Craft P 450 attached to the Southern Naval Command were promptly dispatched for rescuing the patient. Accordingly, the patient was taken safely onboard SLCG “Suraksha” at the rough seas South-East off the Galle light house and then transferred him to the Fast Attack Craft. Thereafter, the patient was brought to the Hambanthota harbour premises and admitted to General Hospital-Hambanthota for further treatment.
