Northern Naval Command conducts field medical clinic on Eluwativu island
 

As a part of Sri Lanka Navy’s cooperate social responsibility project, the Northern Naval Command conducted a field medical clinic at St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church on Eluwativu island on 24th June 2018. The event which was conducted by medics attached to the Northern Naval Command was held under the directives of the Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Merril Wickramasinghe.

253 persons residing on the Eluwativu island which is cast away from the Jaffna peninsula received treatments for their ailments during this magnanimous effort of the Navy. Further, the public in the region extended their gratitude to the Navy for conducting cooperate social responsibility projects of this nature over the years.

Screening of chronic non communicable diseases, treatment for chronic / acute diseases and field laboratory investigations were carried out for free during the clinic. Meanwhile, State Pharmaceutical Cooperation and Triposha Lanka Ltd sponsored for medicines and nutritional supplements of the event.
