Pakistan Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee visits Southern Naval Command
 

General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, the Pakistan Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee who is on a four-day official tour in Sri Lanka, visited the Southern Naval Command yesterday (30th June 2018). Upon his arrival, the General was warmly received to the Naval Command, according a special Guard of Honour.

Subsequently, General Hayat toured the archaeological and architectural heritage monument, the Galle Fort and the National Maritime Museum in Galle. The Commanding Officer and Training Captain of SLNS Nipuna, Captain Sanjeewa Perera and Supervising Officer Seva Vanitha Unit of SLNS Nipuna, Lieutenant Commander Nimali Kumari also joined the visit.

Further, the visiting General met with the Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kapila Samaraweera and held a cordial discussion. Mementoes were also exchanged to mark the significance of the event. Deputy Area Commander of Southern Naval Area, Commodore Hasitha Gamage and a group of senior officers attached to the Southern Naval Command were also present on this occasion.
