Twelve Indian fishermen apprehended for illegal fishing in Sri Lankan waters
 

Twelve (12) Indian fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing in Sri Lankan territorial waters and two trawlers used by them were apprehended by a Fast Attack Craft of SL Navy attached to the Northern Naval Command, in the seas off Delft Island, today (5th July).

The apprehended Indian fishermen along with their trawlers were brought to SLNS Elara at Karainagar and after a medical test they were handed over to the Fisheries Inspectorate in Jaffna through the Department of Sri Lanka Coast Guard, for onward legal action.
