Navy receives blessings of chariot procession
 

The chariot procession which marched from the Kathir Velayutha Swami Kovil, Colombo to Sri Manika Vinayagar Kovil, Bambalapitiya arrived at the portals of Naval Headquarters on 26th July 2018. Upon its arrival, the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Piyal De Silva flanked by a host of naval personnel respectfully welcomed the silver chariot and received the blessings.

 Navy also provided bottles of drinking water to the devotees and members of the cultural troupes arrived in the procession. The religious event was also attended by the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne, Director Generals, senior officers attached to the Naval Headquarters, Commanding Officer SLNS Parakrama, Captain Mahesh De Silva and a large number of sailors.
