Sixty senior sailors receive interest free loans
 

Sri Lanka Navy granted interest free loans worth Rs. 500,000 each to another 60 senior sailors today (06th September). The simple ceremony held at the Naval Headquarters to handover the cheques in this regard was presided over by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe. The financial allocation of Rs. 30 million utilized for the above purpose was provided by the Naval Benefit Foundation. The occasion was also attended by the Manager of Naval Benefit Foundation, Lieutenant Commander KM Dayananda.

This welfare initiative was mooted to recognize the contribution of long serving senior sailors of the Sri Lanka Navy. Accordingly, a total of 1,513 senior sailors have been granted interest free loans till date. The Navy is determined to grant this financial support to yet another 4,038 senior sailors in due course.
