Navy IT branch conducts a workshop for officials of Farmers’ Associations
 

A workshop organized by Information Technology Branch of Sri Lanka Navy for the officials of Ministry of Agriculture and Khaththewela Farmers’ Association in Haputale, was commenced under the patronage of Director Naval Information Technology Commodore Priyantha Edirisinghe at the Light House Galley restaurant premises on last 21st Sep. Senior Staff Officer (Geographic Information Systems) & Senior Staff Officer (Systems Management), Commander (IT) Nadeera Kulapathi, Staff Officer (Geographic Information Systems) & Staff Officer (Network Administration / System Administration) Lieutenant Commander (IT) Kasun Wanasooriya were also present on this occasion.

In response to a request made by Ministry of Agriculture, this programme was conducted by the Geographic Information Systems unit of the Information Technology branch of Sri Lanka Navy. Ten (10) officials from Ministry of Agriculture and Khaththewela Farmers’ Association participated in this 3 day programme and they were theoretically and practically educated on Geographic Information Systems during the sessions.

Further, Senior Staff Officer (Geographic Information Systems) & Senior Staff Officer (Systems Management), Commander (IT) Nadeera Kulapathi, Petty Officer (IT) DMTR Rajapaksha and Petty Officer (IT) JMRK Jayalath contributed with their consultancy in the programme to make it a success.
