Fourteen (14) Direct Entry officers pass out at NMA in Trincomalee
 

On successful completion of their basic training, fourteen (14) naval officers of the 01/2018 Direct Entry batch passed out at the main parade ground of the Naval and Maritime Academy in Trincomalee on 12th October 2018. This batch is comprised of 05 officers belonging to the Technical Branch and 09 officers of the Volunteer Naval Force, including 03 lady officers.  The Commander Western Naval Area and the Commandant Volunteer Naval Force, Rear Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and took the salute.

Having inspected the divisions, the Chief Guest addressed the newly passed out officers and their parents and underlined the importance of rendering a noble service with full of integrity while preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation, being a member of the naval family. Further, he also urged the new bunch of officers to hone their skills and competencies as never before and make sure of the fulfilment of a responsible duty coupled with perfect execution of task in hand for the betterment of the Sri Lanka Navy.

 The occasion was also attended by the Commander Eastern Naval Area Rear Admiral, Sumith Weerasinghe, the Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy, Commodore Kalana Jinadasa, a host of senior and junior officers and family members of the newly passed out officers.
