One hundred and ten senior sailors receive interest free loans
 

Sri Lanka Navy granted interest free loans worth Rs. 500,000 each to another one hundred and ten (110) senior sailors during a simple ceremony presided over by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe at the Naval Headquarters yesterday (16th November). The financial allocation of Rs. 55 million utilized for the above purpose was provided by the Naval Benefit Foundation. The occasion was also attended by the Secretary to the Commander of the Navy, Captain (S) Achala De Silva.

This welfare initiative was mooted to recognize the contributions of long serving senior sailors of the Sri Lanka Navy. Accordingly, a total of 1937 senior sailors have been granted interest free loans till date. The Navy is determined to offer this financial support to yet another 3035 senior sailors in due course.
