Commander of the Navy visits Southeastern Naval Command
 

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe made a visit to the Southeastern Naval Command on 20th December 2018. Upon his arrival, the Navy Commander was warmly received by Commander Southeastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Ruwan Perera.

As part of this visit, Commander of the Navy declared open the newly constructed Naval Detachment Sangamangramam at Sangamankanda. The construction work of the new detachment completed within a short period of time, using naval manpower. Vice Admiral Ranasinghe also shared a light moment with the naval personnel who undertook construction work before planting an ‘Ahela’ sapling on the premises. Thereupon, he also declared open the new Operations Room of SLNS Mahanaga.

Deputy Area Commander (Southeast), Commodore Anura Ekanayake, Deputy Area Commander designate, Commodore Prasanna Hewage, Commanding Officer SLNS Mahanaga, Captain Nishantha Ranaweera and a large number of officers attached to the Naval Headquarters and Southeastern Naval Command were also present on these occasions.
