The Mental Health Unit and Operations Department of Northern Naval Command collaboratively conducted an outbound training programme under the patronage of Commander Northern Naval Area Rear Admiral Merril Wickramasinghe at SLNS Uththara on 19th January 2019.

The main objective of the programme was to enhance team performance through experiential learning and to improve team cohesion by engaging team work with separate department members. The programme revolves around outbound activities designed to improve leadership, communication skills, planning, delegation, team work and motivation.

Each participant enthusiastically engaged in events and it was quite an experience for the naval personnel who are working in a military setup to relieve their stress and engage in a series of activities that enhanced team performance through experiential learning and outdoor group activities.

Heads of the Departments and Units and a large number of officers and sailors attached to the shore establishments and the fleet of the Northern Naval Command were also present on this occasion.
