A haul of explosive recovered by a Naval raid

A group of Naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command recovered a dinghy filled with fish which were caught by using explosive, during a patrol carried out at Thuduwa area in Pulmuddai, yesterday (19 February). The suspects had escaped leaving this dinghy with the fish catch.

Accordingly, during a raid carried out today(20 February) at Thuduwa area by the Naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command recovered a haul of explosive used for illegal fishing. 03 non elèctric detonators, 16 water gel sticks, a safety fuse 2 feet and 3 inches in length and some diving devices were there and this lot was handed over to Fisheries Inspector's office in Kuchchaweli.
