Delegation from Pakistan Navy Staff Course visits Sri Lanka

A delegation from Pakistan Navy Staff Course led by Rear Admiral Naveed Ahmed Rizvi visited Sri Lanka from 07th to 11th April, as part of their foreign study tour. During their stay in the island, the members of the delegation toured several places of academic importance and called on Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Jagath Ranasinghe at the Naval Headquarters on 08th April.

Besides, the delegation called on Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne as well as High Commissioner of Pakistan to Sri Lanka, H.E. Shahid Ahmed Hashmat and briefed them about their studies. Subsequently, the delegation paid a visit to the Defence Services Command and Staff College in Batalanda where they could realize how the Staff Course being conducted in Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Navy Staff Course delegation called on Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake and Chief of Staff of the Air Force Air Vice Marshal Sumangala Dias on 09th April. They held cordial discussions on matters of mutual interests and exchanged mementoes to mark the importance of these occasions. Next, they visited the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies where the visiting party was briefed on the engagements of the institute.

Finally, Rear Admiral Naveed Ahmed Rizvi and the visiting delegation visited Southern and Eastern Naval Commands on 10th and 11th April. The respective Area Commanders explained the delegation about duties and responsibilities entrusted on each command. Mementoes were also exchanged to signify these events.

Defence Advisor to the Pakistan High Commission in Sri Lanka, Colonel Sajjad Ali was also present on these occasions. The delegation of Pakistan Navy Staff Course, on successful completion of their study tour, left Sri Lanka yesterday (11th April).
