A French delegation meets Commander of the Navy

A French delegation met Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva at the Naval Headquarters today (22nd May).

Accordingly, a delegation headed by French Border Police, Central Office in charge of investigating international networks involved in people smuggling, Captain Frederic Payen together with Defence Attaché of the French Embassy, Lieutenant Commander Philippe Grussenmeyer visited the Naval Headquarters today. During the visit, Captain Payen and Lieutenant Commander Grussenmeyer called on Commander of the Navy and exchanged several matters of bilateral importance.

Subsequently, the delegation was briefed by Commander of the Navy, on the role played by the Main Operations Centre as well as the responsibilities generally entrusted to Sri Lanka Navy. This occasion was also attended by Deputy Chief of Staff and Director General Operations, Rear Admiral Niraja Attygalle and Director Naval Operations, Commodore Sanjeewa Dias. Commander of the Navy presented mementoes to the members of the delegation to mark the importance of the event.
