SLNS ‘Samudura’ returns home on completion of a successful tour

SLNS ‘Samudura’ which left the port of Trincomalee for Singapore on 6th May 2019 to take part in the International Maritime Defence Exhibition (IMDEX), arrived home today (22nd May) on successful completion of tour events.The ship was received by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval customs and traditions on arrival at the port of Trincomalee.

Flag Officer Commanding the Naval Fleet Rear Admiral Ananda Guruge, Deputy Area Commander ENA Commodore Upul De Silva and several senior officers were also present upon her arrival. Commanding Officer of the ship Captain Damian Fernando presented a briefing on the tour events and exercises conducted in Singapore.

Further, Commander of the Singapore Navy Rear Admiral Lew Chuen Hong paid an inspection visit onboard SLNS Samudura on 15th May. He held cordial discussion with officers onboard and mementos were exchanged to mark the event.
