Navy renders assistance to transfer sick person onboard a merchant ship ashore for treatment

Sri Lanka Navy promptly rendered assistance to transfer a mariner sick by abdomen pain onboard merchant ship “Cape Violet”, ashore for treatment, today (4th June 2019).

Alerted by information given by Maritime Rescue Coordinating Centre of this sick Philippines national, onboard “Cape Violet” which was 7.3 nautical miles off Hambanthota, a Fast Attack Craft with a medical team was swiftly dispatched to the location of the ship.

Accordingly, the naval personnel reached the vessel and safely transferred the patient to the Hambanthota harbour. Thereafter, the patient was sent for medical treatment.
