Navy arrests a suspect with 48mg of heroin

Naval personnel arrested a person with 48mg of heroin, at the gate of Galle harbour today (09^th June).

Accordingly, naval personnel deployed on security duty at the Galle harbour had searched a suspicious person near the harbour entrance and found 48mg of heroin in his possession.

The arrested person has been identified as a resident of Kanampitiya, Galle, aged 36. The suspect along with heroin was handed over to the Galle Harbour Police for onward investigation.

Meanwhile, a group of naval personnel attached to the North Central Naval Command in coordination with the Thalaimannar Police arrested a person with 40mg of heroin, during a search carried out in Thalaimannar area on 08^th June as well.
