Certificate awarded for participants of English Language Course conducted by British Council Sri Lanka

The certificate awarding of the English Language Course conducted by British Council Sri Lanka under sponsorship of Australian High Commission in Sri Lanka, was held at Colombo Light House Galley premises, on 11th June 2019.

The Australian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka HE David Holy graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, Director General Training Rear Admiral Nandana Jayarathna, Deputy Director General of Sri Lanka Coast Guard Department Commodore YMGB Jayathilaka, Senior officials of Department of Immigration & Emigration and Department of Registration of Persons, Officials from British Council Sri Lanka were also present on this occasion.

Five officers of Sri Lanka Navy, 05 officers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Department and 10 officers of Sri Lanka Customs followed this course which were conducted at Colombo Light House Galley premises.

The course was sponsored by Australian High Commission in Sri Lanka while Sri Lanka Navy provided multi-media projectors and other equipment required for the course studies.

This course continued for 10 weekends, was intended for improving the communication skills and upgrading the usage of English in documentation related to the official duties. Twenty (20) officers attached to Department of Immigration & Emigration and Department of Registration of Persons, who had followed other British Council English courses, were also awarded certificates at this ceremony.
