Navy nabs a person with a haul of illegal foreign cigarettes

Navy in coordination with Anti Corruption Bureau-Trinncomalee apprehended a person with 30 packets of illegal foreign cigarettes, at Andamkulama area, on 14^th June 2019.

Accordingly, during a raid carried out by a team of Naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Area in coordination with the officials of Anti Corruption Bureau-Trinncomalee, this person was arrested at Andamkulama area. The arrested haul consisted of 600 cigarettes and those were set for sale at the moment of apprehension.

The suspect is a resident of Andamkulama area in Trincomalee, aged 56. Further investigations on the person and the haul of cigarettes are conducted by Anti Corruption Bureau-Trinncomalee.
