Navy's contribution to conserve scenic beauty of coastal belt

In view of conservasion the beach line Naval personnel of Southern Naval Command conducted a beach cleaning programme, today (15th June).

Navy frequently launches several activities to protect and conserve the beach arras. Accordingly, this beach cleaning programme was held with the participation of a large group of naval personnel including Commander Southern Naval Area, officers and sailors of all Naval bsses in Southern Naval Command.

The beach areas of Galle, Mahamodara, Tangalle, Paravi wella and also surrounded area of the Hambanthota Fisheries Harbour were cleaned and a big stock of plastic and polythene which were scattered over the beach areas were collected and disposed.

Under the visionary vision of Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, all Naval commands have commenced this kind of environment friendly projects in order to practise the Green-Blue concept. Sri Laka Navy being a guardian of the island's coastal belt, carries out beach cleaning programme around all bases, weekly.
