Navy is stand by for the protection of devotees to Anuradhapura

A number of Naval relief teams have been deployed to ensure the security of devotees who come to Anuradhapura sacred city to worship the shrines and to visit the Poson zones organized around the city, during this Poson festive season.

Accordingly, 12 Naval life saving teams with craft attached to the North Central Naval Command are stand by at Basawakkulama tank, Mahakanadarawa tank, Nachchaduwa tank, Vilachchiya tank, Rajanganaya tank, Nuwarawewa tank, Kalawewa, Balaluwewa and Jaya Ganga canal in Anuradhapura district.

Further, a ambulance to be used on an emergency, a team of medical assistants and a Naval diving team have been stationed in Anuradhapura town and two operational rooms, one at District Secretariat and the other at 21st Army Regiment has been opened to coordinate the Naval teams.
