Sri Lanka Navy celebrates ‘World Hydrography Day’

In concurrent with the ‘World Hydrography Day’ which falls on 21st June, Sri Lanka Navy Hydrographic Service [SLNHS] conducted an awareness programme for Naval officers under patronage of the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, at Colombo, today (20th June 2019.

Accordingly, this awareness programme had been organized by the head of Sri Lanka Navy Hydrographic Service Rear Admiral Sisira Jayakody and his staff under the directives of Commander of the Navy, at the Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake Auditorium at Naval Headquarters. The theme of this year’s (2019) World Hydrography Day is “Hydrographic Information Driving Maritime Knowledge”

Chief of Staff of the Navy Rear Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenna, Senior and junior Naval officers and the officers attached to the Sri Lanka Navy Hydrographic Service were also present on the occasion.
