Rear Admiral Upul de Silva assumes duties as the Flag Officer Commanding the Naval Fleet

Rear Admiral Upul de Silva assumed duties as the Flag Officer Commanding the Naval Fleet, on 01^st July2019.

His predecessor, Rear Admiral Ananda Guruge formally handed over the duties of the position to Rear Admiral Upul de Silva at the Naval Fleet HQ located at Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee .

The incoming Flag Officer Commanding the Naval Fleet was accorded a Guard of Honour and warmly received to the Naval Fleet and a similar formation followed suit to honour Rear Admiral Ananda Guruge after he was congratulated by fellow officers of Naval Fleet.

Rear Admiral Upul de Silva held the position of Deputy Area Commander Eastern Naval Area, before he was appointed to this new position.
