Naval personnel break sweat to clean beaches in Southern Naval Command

Naval personnel attached to the Southern Naval Command took part in a worthy drive to clean-up beaches in the Southern Naval Command, today (06th July 2019).

Accordingly, under the supervision of Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kassapa Paul, naval personnel of SLNS Dakshina, SLNS Nipuna, SLNS Ruhuna and Naval Deployment Hambantota belonging to the Southern Naval command were engaged in cleaning the beaches of Habaraduwa, Gintota, Tangalle Fishery Harbour and Hambantota. These beaches which were polluted due to a number of reasons were brought back to places of neat and tidy as a result of the Navy’s effort.

Besides, under the visionary concept of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva - the drive for Green and Blue environment, a number of programmes of this nature are being conducted in every Naval Command.
