Navy-built Primary Health Centre declared open for community use

The newly constructed Primary Health Centre on the Karaitivu Island was declared open for community use on 27th August 2019.

Following the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, this benevolent act has been carried out utilizing the Navy’s manpower, under the supervision of Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kapila Samaraweera. The new facility was declared open by Commanding Officer SLNS Elara, Captain Thushara Sugathadasa.

The occasion was attended by the Venerable Maha Sangha, religious dignitaries of other faiths, Divisional Secretary of Karainagar, Chairman of the Karainagar Pradeshiya Sabha, Regional Director Health Services, hospital staff of Karainagar, officers and sailors attached to the Northern Naval Command
