Captain Anil Bowatta of SL Navy donates a house to Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen’s Association

A house which is situated at Katugastota in Kandy, owned by Captain Anil Bowatta of SL Navy, renovated as a elders' home with Navy's labour and was declared open today (31st August ) by Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva with the blessings of Maha Sanga and subsequently it was handed over to the Ex Servicemen's Association.

This house which had been presented to Captain Anil Bowatta by Mr. Ananda Jayasinghe and Mrs Indra Bowatta, was named "Indra Ananda" as a home for elders with the noble view of bestowing merits on them. The house has four rooms which would provide resident facility for ten elders.

After addressing the gathering at the opening, the Commander of the Navy also joined the registration of elders for the home. Further, he presented awards to the naval personnel of SLNS Shilpa who provided labour for the renovation work.

The President of the Ex Servicemen's Association Major General (Rtd) Upul Perera, the relatives of Captain Anil Bowatta and villagers were also present on the occasion.
