Commander Southern Naval Area on a observation visit to Hambanthota Port

Commander Southern Naval Area Rear Admiral Kassapa Paul paid a security observation visit to Habanthota port on 11th September 2019.

The Area Commander paid his special attention to the harbour defence system including security plan of the Rapid Action Zones, International Ships and Harbour Defence Office and the Operational Room.

Further, the Area Commander was briefed on the current security plan of the Hambanthota port by the Naval Officer In Charge (NOIC) and Commanding Officer of Naval Deployment ‘Hambanthota’. The service and the commitment of naval personnel in security duties was appreciated by the Area Commander. He instructed respective personnel regarding the further matters of security concerned and pointed out the responsibility of security rely upon the Sri Lanka Navy.

The Naval Officer In Charge (NOIC) Hambanthota, the Heads of Departments in the Command and other officers also attended this visit.
