Person nabbed for possessing Kerala and local cannabis

The Navy in coordination with the Puttalam Police conducted a search in the general area of Palavi and apprehended a person for possessing 1.087g of Kerala cannabis and 7.900g of local cannabis, today (03^rd October).

The apprehension was made while searching a suspected vehicle by the Northwestern Naval Command and the Puttalam Police at the Karambe roadblock. The suspect along with the vehicle was subsequently held by the Navy. The accused has been identified as a resident of Arachchikattuwa, aged 58. The suspect together with the vehicle and cannabis was handed over to the Puttalam Police for onward legal action.
