Hull-refit project begins in Southern Naval Command

Marking a significant mile stone in SLN ship husbandry, a hull-refit project was launched at Command Slipway - SLNS Dakshina in Southern Naval Command on 25th October 2019. The occasion was presided over by Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kassapa Paul.

Going by the Directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva this Fast Attack Craft hull-refit project was launched and P 485 Fast Attack Craft is currently in dry dock for the first hull-refit. The refit-work of P 485 will be carried out expeditiously by naval engineers to make it ready again for operational duties.

The occasion was also attended by the Deputy Area Commander, Heads of Departments and a host of officers and sailors attached to the Southern Naval Command.
