A person with unauthorized gun and saplings of Cannabis apprehended by Navy

SL Navy in coordination with the officials of Police STF apprehended a suspect who possessed an unauthorized gun and few saplings of Cannabis, during a raid carried out in Hambanthota area on 5^th November 2019.

A suspicious person had been observed during a raid carried out in Hambanthota area by Southern Naval Command in coordination with the officials of Police STF-Gonnoruwa. By search of the person, a 12 bore shot gun and 12 bore cartridge were found and accordingly they were apprehended. Few saplings of Cannabis which had been planted by the suspect in a secret place, were also recovered.

The suspect is a resident of Hambanthota area, aged 53. He along with the shot gun, cartridge and saplings of Cannabis were handed over to Hambanthota Police for further investigation.
