Person held for possessing 3kg of local cannabis

During a search conducted by the Navy and the Pattiyapola Police Special Task Force in Ranna on 8^th November 2019, a person has been apprehended for keeping 3kg of local cannabis in his possession.

During a joint search operation conducted by the Southern Naval Command in coordination with the Pattiyapola Police Special Task Force in Ranna area, the suspect was spotted and searched. Subsequently, he was held for possessing this stock of local cannabis. The suspect has been identified as a resident of Ambalantota, aged 22.

The suspect along with seized cannabis was handed over to the Hungama Police for onward action.
