Navy partners with Cisco Networking Academy Programme

In an effort to meet the growing demand for people with the skills and knowledge required to design, build and maintain networks, the Cisco has launched the Cisco Networking Academy Programme worldwide. The Sri Lanka Navy entered into Cisco Networking Academy Programme on 06th November 2019 at Naval Headquarters by signing an MOU with Cisco International Limited, United Kingdom.

Accordingly, Director General Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Rear Admiral Nishantha Samarasinghe signed the MOU with Cisco’s Director Management Finance, Mr. Christopher Mark Waters. The occasion was also attended by Mr. Piotr Zenon Pluta, Director – APJ and EMER region, Mr. MuruganVasudevan, Regional Manager – South Asia, Mrs. Kalhari Kaluarachchi, Programme Manager – SAARC region as well as a group of senior naval officers.

This programme supports SLN to conduct own CCNA (routing & switching), IT essential, cyber security essential, IOT, CCNA cyber ops and many other technical training programme for officers and sailors within the Navy. Also it improves the professionalism of young SLN engineers and technician on networking, network security and cyber security.
