A Christian Service held in Kaluwella church to invoke blessings on 69th anniversary of SLNavy

Sri Lanka Navy will be celebrating her 69th anniversary on 9th December and a Christian Service in view of this 69th anniversary was held at the Kaluwella Catholic church in Galle and an alms giving was held at Vanreeth Memorial Elders’ Home, on 14th November 2019.

During the mass conducted by Rev. Father Camilus Cooray, blessings were invoked on the motherland, all naval personnel both serving and retired, who are sick and disabled and naval war heroes who made the supreme sacrifice. Thereafter, 65 elderly fathers and mothers who reside at Vanreeth Memorial Elders’ Home were offered with lunch. Commander Southern Naval Area, Heads of Departments and large number of naval personnel attended these occasions.

The Rev. Father, the guardian of the Elders’ Home and the staff paid their gratitude to the Navy for this meritorious work . More multi religious activities and social responsibility work are scheduled to be conducted in all Naval commands in view of 69th anniversary of SL Navy.
