Two (02) persons apprehended for catching lobsters without valid permit

Navy apprehended 02 persons for catching lobsters without a valid permit in the seas off Galle Face, Colombo, on 18^th November 2019.

Accordingly, these 02 persons who were catching lobsters without a valid permit, were apprehended by Western Naval Command, during a patrol carried out in the sea area off Galle Face. The Navy also seized a dinghy, an outboard motor and seven (07) lobsters during the arrest. The arrested persons are residents of Dehiwala and Rathmalana areas, aged 23.

The 02 suspects together with the dinghy, outboard motor, lobsters and other fishing gear were handed over to the Harbour Police for onward action.
