Naval special warfare maritime security course 2019 commences in trincomalee.

Naval Special Warfare Maritime Security Course 2019 commenced in Trincomalee on 02nd December. The inauguration ceremony of the course was held at the auditorium of the Special Boat Squadron.

Captain Dammika Wijewardena, Commanding Officer of the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla(4FAF), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Further officers and sailors of the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla, Special Boat Squadron(SBS) and personnel from the Naval Special Warfare Coastal Troop One of US Navy were present at the inauguration ceremony.

Twenty four personnel from the Special Boat Squadron and twelve personnel from the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla will be undergoing the training program which will be conducted by eight trainers of the Naval Special Warfare Coastal troop one of the US Navy.

The program is conducted as part of the mutual expertise exchange initiative for training and support requirements, of both countries. The two week long training mainly focuses on Roles in the Maritime Domain, boat maintenance and navigation of craft, Maritime Security, Mission Planning and Personal Safety.

Accordingly, the training module is expected to enhance and develop professional skills and exchange of knowledge between personnel of US Navy and SLN in the field of Maritime Security and is scheduled to conclude on 13th December.
