Navy-Police anti-drug operation carried out to apprehend 03 persons with drugs

During a joint operation conducted by the Navy and Police, 03 persons have been apprehended for keeping drugs in their possession on 04th December 2019.

The Navy, being an active partner in undertaking operations to make a drug-free society, combined with the Police Narcotics Bureau of Puttalam to search a house in Sinamandaluwa area in Puttalam and found 22g and 410mg of heroin from the house. Three suspects remained at the house were also taken into custody.

The apprehended persons have been identified as residents of Madurankuliya and Semmandalama areas aged 34, 40 and 46. The suspects along with the drugs were handed over to the Puttalam Police for onward investigation.
