Islamic prayers shower blessings on 69th anniversary of Navy

In parallel with a series of events organized for the upcoming 69th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy, Islamic religious observances were performed at the Fort Jumma Mosque on Chatham Street on 05th December.

During the event, customary Islamic religious prayers invoked blessings on the disabled naval personnel as well as those who have made the supreme sacrifice for the motherland, the present Commander of the Navy and all naval personnel.

Further, Director General Budget & Finance of Sri Lanka Navy, Rear Admiral Vijitha Meddegoda, President of Sri Lanka Navy Muslim Association, Commander Prashan Marso, a number of Muslim naval personnel serving in the Navy, officers and sailors also attended this religious event. The event was organized by the naval personnel attached to SLNS Parakrama under the directives of its Commanding Officer, Captain Mahesh De Silva.
