Rear Admiral Sumith Weerasinghe assumes office as Commandant Volunteer Naval Force

Rear Admiral Sumith Weerasinghe assumed office as Commandant Volunteer Naval Force (VNF) on an auspicious note on the 06th December.

The new Commandant VNF was accorded a Guard of Honour and was warmly received to the Volunteer Naval Force Headquarters where his predecessor Rear Admiral Sujeewa Perera officially handed over the duties of the appointment to the incoming Commandant.

In addition to his appointment as Commandant VNF, the officer is currently holding appointment as Commander Western Naval Area. Commanding Officer VNF and SLNS Lanka, Captain Toni Perera was also present on this occasion.
