The anniversaries of SLNS 'Kanchadewa' - a naval base belonging to the Northern Naval Command and Sri Lanka Navy Ship 'Jayasagara' were celebrated on a high note today (09^th December 2019).

During a search conducted in the seas off Pesalai in Mannar, the Navy found a haul of about 1448kg beedi leaves on 9^th December 2019.

Four (04) persons who engaged in illegal catching of sea cucumber were apprehended by Navy during a patrol carried out at the Palleimunai beach area in Mannar on 09^th December 2019.

During joint operations conducted in Kinniya and Puttalam areas on 08^th December 2019, the Navy with the assistance of the Police held 03 persons for possessing drugs.

Navy carried out a diving operation in search of a person who had drowned and gone missing in Ganduwa sea area off Weligama, on 8^th December 2019 and recovered the dead body of the missing person.
