Navy assists apprehension of 02 persons involved in smuggling of drugs

The Navy, during a raid carried out in Thilayadigama, Puttalam on 18^th December 2019, rendered assistance to apprehend 02 persons involved in smuggling of drug.

The Navy in coordination with the Puttalam Police conducted this raid in Thilayadigama, Puttalam and took these 02 suspects into custody while searching a house. The suspects had 01g and 100mg of heroin in their possession.

The accused have been identified as residents of the same locality. The Puttalam Police is conducting further investigation into the incident.

The Navy has been conducting continuous operations against smuggling of drugs in the country and has been able to produce a number of drug dealers and drug addicts for legal action.
