Navy rescues two Jet Ski riders fell into Lake Gregory

Sri Lanka Navy managed to rescue an Indian and a Sri Lankan who fell into water while riding Jet Ski at the Lake Gregory in NuwaraEliya on 27th December 2019.

The Indian who was on a visit to NuwaraEliya had engaged in Jet Ski riding with a Sri Lankan before they faced this unfortunate incident, being unaable to control the speed of the watercraft. Having noticed the accident, naval personnel attached to the Navy's Rapid Response Rescue and Relief Unit 4RU) deployed on the lake premises had swiftly rescued the two riders fallen into water.

The rescued persons have been identified as an Indian who was on a tour in NuwaraEliya area and 20 year old Sri Lankan boy, a resident of NuwaraEliya . In a bid to rescue both local and foreign tourists engage in recreational activities at rivers, lakes and sea, the Navy has kept rescue teams at such locations and Navy life savers rescue number of victims in the water.
