INS “Airavat” departs the island on completion of successful tour

Indian Naval Ship “Airavat” which arrived Sri Lanka on 20th January 2020, departed from the port of Colombo today (22nd January 2020) on completion of a successful tour. Sri Lanka Navy made customary farewell to the departing ship, in compliance with naval traditions.

During their stay in the island, the crew of the Indian ship participated in number of activities organized by the SL Navy. Accordingly, the training programme on Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief, conducted at the Rapid Action Boat Squadron’s HQ in Kalpitiya, was commended by the ship’s crew and further they expressed that it was much interested to exchange the knowledge, experiences and the mutual cooperation between the two countries.

Sri Lanka Navy and Indian Navy were able to gain new knowledge, experiences and to enhance the cooperation through this tour.
