Navy recovers about 97kg and 200g of Kerala Cannabis

The Navy recovered approximately 97kg and 200g of Kerala Cannabis during a patrol conducted in the seas off .Milady, Jaffna on 1^st February 2020.

During a patrol carried out in the seas off Milady, Jaffna as part of the Navy’s operations at sea and in coastal areas aimed to make a country free of drugs, few parcels floating on seas were recovered. By search of these parcels approximately 97kg and 200g of Kerala cannabis contained there was found.

As a result of Navy's continuous operations, the attempts made by racketeers to smuggle Kerala Cannabis to the country has been foiled and it is believed that this stock of KG was abandoned due to Naval raids. The recovered stock of KG is due to be handed over to Police STF in Jaffna.
