Navy assists to bring injured fisherman ashore

Sri Lanka Navy assisted to bring an injured fisherman shore for treatment.

A fisherman who was on-board multiday fishing trawler "Rainbow"which had left the Beruwala fisheries harbour on 26 January 2020, had faced with an accident and injured. On receipt of the information about this accident given by the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, under the directives of Naval Headquarters, a naval craft attached to the Eastern Naval Command was dispatched for the rescue mission of this fisherman.

Accordingly, the trawler had been observed by Navy in the seas 40 nautical miles North of Foul Point lighthouse and the injured fisherman was safely brought ashore after given basic first aid. Sri Lanka Navy assists the distressed naval and fishing communities frequently, in the Sri Lankan territorial waters.
